Thanks to Tumblr, I’ve been re-watching Ed Edd N Eddy, one of my favorite cartoons. I thought it would be fun to draw one of the Eds semi-realistic but I didn’t know which Ed to draw, so, I asked around. Everyone, of course, suggested Edd so viola, semi-realistic Edd.

I decided drawing my love and I as semi-realistic toons would be decent practice so here we are in all our awkward glory.
I was really curious to see what movie Toothiana would look like as a human (I also wanted to attempt to digitally paint for once) so I heavily referenced a screen shot from the movie and voilà, a human Tooth. I decided to keep her eyes purple because I imagine she’d be born with them as a hint of her future transformation. The jewel on her head… I have no idea. I improvised.
I loathe myself for being such a terrible artist these days. I’ve been practicing every day to keep my artistic abilities, or whatever seems to be left of them, sharp. I’m hoping it’ll pay off sometime soon.
This is Saymn concept art. If you look closely, you’ll see his lantern is occupied by a sleeping Muinmos (or “Tea Fox”).
Practice sketches! Toothiana on the left and my OC Symlor (she’s masked Waverly but that’s a story for another post) on the right. Toothiana’s dress-like tail feathers inspired me to change Symlor’s long tail into a short one with tail feathers (or tail leaves in this case) that surround the flower that is her tail.
… I used the word tail so much in that sentence that I feel I should use it again. Tail.
Diego lives happily in a 5 gallon tank with a heater and low flow filter! From experience, betta have a great deal of personality; they love to swim around and explore so I would personally recommend a 5 gallon tank for a single betta. As for taking good care of him, doing your research before adopting any pet is obviously ideal so thank you so much for caring enough to ask around! This amazing website (BettaTalk.com) will provide excellent opinions and advice, much better than my own, if you’ve not already come across it! Hello! ♥ Sadly, posting your artwork anywhere online is risky. If you really want to showcase your work, you ultimately have to sum up the courage to take these risks. As I’m sure you’re aware, signing or watermarking your work helps. If you’re primarily a traditional artist, save your originals. As for my experience here on Tumblr, I’ve had no troubles thus far! Appreciate your valued followers because if someone does steal your work and they notice, they will bring it to your attention.
Personally, I think you should post your work somewhere because it’s wonderful and more than worthy of praise. You’re really holding out on the art world, Ms. Jay!
I officially have a name for “Impbono” and that name is… Saymn (pronounced same). How horrible, I know.
